This was one of the best purchases I have made. On only 1 charge the NOCO GB40 managed to jump start my Honda Civic 4 times and my sons Chevy Impala 6 times. The NOCO now shows it only has 75% battery left but I would assume it would be good for 20-30 total jumps like it says on the description.

I had a battery starting to die on my 2.0 liter Honda Civic. I was holding off on getting a battery knowing I could use the NOCO to jump start my car if it died. When I received the NOCO I gave it a full charge overnight and put in my car the next morning. Over the next week I had to jump my car twice while away form home. I read other reviews that said to wait about 1 minutes after hooking it up and without fail it started my car right up. Finally, after two weeks my battery was completely dead and needed the NOCO to start the car every time due to the cold winter days. I purchased a new battery. The following week my sons 3.5 liter V6 Chevy Impala was failing to start. I used the NOCO to jump his car as well. I went ahead and gave the NOCO to my son who claimed to have used it about 5 more times before he was able to replace his battery. I will be purchasing another for myself and plan to give these away as gifts in the future.

I used this to jump start a totally dead battery on a Lexus RX350 2010. The battery was totally dead, so I had to manually override the NOCO to force charge it and as soon as I pressed that button the car started honking and I opened the door and pressed & held the start for the usual 2-3 seconds but the car failed to start, I held it a second time for 5-6 seconds then the car started and I was able to drive it around town to have the battery charged.

I read & watched some reviews where people wouldn't use the manually override feature and that is a must on totally dead batteries. Couldn't be any happier!

If your car has a fob to enter the door, and it doesn't operate w/o battery - make sure you have the regular door key or a way to enter the car. For me I had already unlocked the car manually, but it's not guaranteed that the door would operate as you connect the battery.

Update 6/16:
So I tried to start my car and this time, the door and dashboard indicators were on, but I couldn't start the car, it would give me some clicking noise and it wouldn't start it. So the battery wasn't all dead... I was able to jump start the car a second time using the same NOCO battery with the old charge and this time w/o using manual override and the NOCO detected the battery right away. Talking with my car dealer, they recommended either letting the car idle for a few hours in the garage or drive it but this time on the highway which I did for an hour > 60 mph.

The next day the battery did start, so the driving in the highway did the trick. I might still need to take the car to have it serviced and check the battery, but overall very pleased with my experience with NOCO jump starter!

This is my review for the Noco Boost Plus

I purchased this battery jumper because I needed something to jump a friend's boat that always died after it sat too long also to have kept inside of my truck in case of an emergency. I chose Noco because I also have a small charger for 12v batteries that they make. I love the Noco quality and high tech look of the products they make.
When My battery jumper arrived it was well packaged with nice bright pictures. Everything was there and it even included a nice soft case to fit everything in.
I wanted to use this for a jump on a friend's boat, so I hooked it up and turned the boat key and boom started right up!
Some of the things I loved about it were that it was the size, would fit nicely in my truck under the seat for those emergencies on the road or just to help out unfortunate people whose car battery died. This thing also charges phones as a bonus! Love the fact that it has nice leds on the front that work in different patterns as well and to light up the engine area in the dark.
I think anyone looking for a nice compact, quality battery jumper easy to store and have for emergencies this is the one to get. I would recommend this product for sure.

Surprisingly light and small. Charged quickly and was ready to roll. My Jeep Wrangler battery was dead, so I made a video of me trying to jump it. It turns out I needed to leave the GB40 connected to my battery terminals for a minute or so before the engine was ready to turn over.

I used the GB40 three times in one day (I was intentionally seeing how it would perform) and the charge was down to the 75% mark. After the first jump (needing to keep the battery connected for a minute), the two other jumps were instant. My batter probably just needed more help on the first jump.

I'm very impressed with how lightweight and well-made the product feels. You may want to ensure the clamps reach your positive and negative/ground posts, since they don't have a lot of reach between them. They fit a standard battery easily. My wife's vehicle has the ground post separated from the exposed positive terminal on her battery, but it still reached without issue.

Note - these come with a USB cable to charge it, but it does NOT come with an AC wall charger. I used an AC USB wall charger (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JHZXCQD) to charge two of these at once (one for me, one for my wife) - they simultaneously charged to 100% in less than three hours.

I bought the Noco GB40 a few days ago for my father and I am highly impressed. He has a GMC 5.7L V8 Savana van and has had some intermittent battery issues (something slowly draining the battery). After charging the GB40 I tested it on the van.

A jump starter for the average driver is not something that you readily use, however it is very important that it works when you need it the most. In testing, I removed the side post connectors and hooked up the GB40. Then in manual override I was able to start the van. There was a slight hesitation, however it did start within the first 3 seconds.

I have used other battery jump starters and this was the only one that I found that would start his van.

Since the rating for the GB40 is towards the upper limit of his van, I bought another Noco, this time the GB70 for him. I didn't want to take any chances of it not starting (although it did without the battery). I will just keep the GB40 for my Jeep Renegade.

In conclusion, this review is for the GB40. The Noco products are VERY well made and the clamps are excellent. Well worth the price and highly recommended.

This is a review of the NOCO Genius Boost Plus GB40 Jump Starter by Noco.

I purchased this a little too late. The other week my wife’s suv battery was dead and we had to jump the suv using the old fashioned vehicle to vehicle method which is a pain. Our suv has gone through batteries like candy and is constantly having battery issue. This bothers me as I am afraid one of these times the battery will die in a place there is no one to help my wife jump the suv to get it running and get it back to the shop or to allow her to get home safe. Plus we have a child which makes this worse.

This is a wonderful solution. I looked high and low for a solution and just found this one. Yes, they have jump packs that are huge and will do the trick, but my dad home one and it would drain on its own and be dead within the month which means it needed a constant charging to keep it reliable.

I really like this one and choose this one for the following reasons.
1.) It is light weight, small and lithium.
2.) It has a built in 100 lumen flashlight which makes night jumps a whole lot easier to do. Especially as my hood does not have a light built in.
3.) The cables are very flexible and are a heavy duty 8 gauge.
4.) This can be used as a power bank as well but that does not interest me. (So say you are broken down and have a dead battery, use the usb port to get that phone working to call for help.)
5.) Came with a DC 2.1amp charger adapter. Note – You can use the dc adapter to charge this or simply use the included micro usb cable to charge this using a usb wall power adapter or usb hub. Use a power source of at least 2amps.
6.) Came with a cloth bag you can put everything in to keep it together. (Perfect size for your glove or trunk.)
7.) Is rated up to 1000amps which is rated up to 20 jumps on a single charge. I personally plan to charge this after every time I need to jump as it is not frequent to be safe.
8.) The charge unlike the larger portable units takes far longer to drain since it is lithium. It can kee a charge up to a year. Again, I would not push the maximum time frame and I plan to charge this every 3 months as precaution. Super easy to do and it will avoid murphys law from popping up.
9.) It is 7,035 joules which is how much power it pumps out in 3 seconds. This one is rated for engines up to 6l – gasoline or 3l for diesel. Again, I always rather go bigger. So if you are on the upper size engine, I would recommend the 2000 amp model to give you more then enough oomph.
Best feature of this is the safety it offers. Jumping between two vehicles can be very dangerous and is not something I prefer my wife doing. These are not only spark proof but have reverse polarity just in case….

Summary – While I hope we actually never need to use it I feel this is the best type and model of a battery booster available for me at this time and would recommend to friends and family.
